Hiraeth

£2.50

Two colour mini risoprint on high quality paper (approximately 10x10cm) featuring the poppy and the sun bird - national symbols of Palestine

Hiraeth is a well-known Welsh word that, when crudely translated to English, means a longing for home within a specific place and people, and a sadness for what has been lost. It is a sort of ancient, soulful feeling.

Hiraeth has never been just about Wales and Welshness. It crosses and destabilises borders. It is inherently political. The concept of hiraeth calls for Welsh solidarity with oppressed and displaced people around the world.

It is impossible to think about hiraeth without thinking about Palestine. The depth of that longing across history and geography. The strength of it, in love and anger and joy and grief and courage and fight. Hiraeth is Palestine, Palestine is Hiraeth.

100% of money raised (except postage) will go to Gaza Soup Kitchen, a Palestinian run project aiming to feed 3000 people every day in Gaza:
